London General and London Central Staff Win Awards

On Wednesday 3rd September, staff from London General and London Central were honoured by the Mayor at the London Bus and Tram Staff Awards 2003.
The top award was given to Silbert Crichlow, a London Central driver from New Cross Garage, who has given over 41 years of committed service to the industry. He was among 25 people who were singled out for their dedication to bus and tram passengers in London. Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, said, “Passengers are flooding back to the service and bus staff have been instrumental in achieving this success”.
London’s bus operators nominated staff who they thought had achieved excellent customer service or had made a significant contribution to the industry. Other London General and London Central staff who received awards were Michael Sadler from Sutton Garage, Tina Rigney from Merton Garage, Jeanette Morton from New Cross Garage and Gurparsad Singh from Camberwell Training Centre.
David Brown, Go-Ahead Chief Executive London, said, “I am extremely proud of the commitment and dedication that these members of staff have shown over the many years. I would like to express my thanks for all their hard work, it is much appreciated both by the company and London’s travelling public”.
